In order to get rid of the habit of smoking once and for all, you must stand guard about 3
months after quitting.
You must also, and maybe mainly, deal with the psychological factor, and beware of
temptations: the temptation to smoke one single cigarette. during the first three months,
the danger of going back to smoking after smoking single cigarettes (here and there, with
no reason), is highest.
Do not be tempted to the innocent cigarette, that looks so harmless and unimportant. Three
situations are especially dangerous and make it hard to face that one cigarette:

	- Boredom

 - Stress

 - Pleasing relaxation (a situation of enjoyment, especially in company)

What is to be done in such situations?
First, keeping your mind off the cigarette. think about any
alternative thing, but smoking. Keep yourself busy.
Do something relaxing against stress (you know the cigarette does not relax, and more so
after a period of not smoking). Find yourself a pleasing substitute for the cigarette.
something that will really cause you pleasure.
Should you stand guard for the rest of your life? No, don't worry, the habit of smoking is
like any other habit: if not nourished, it dies out.
Remember - not one cigarette!!!!
If you give in to one cigarette, there is a danger you will surrender to all of them, and
sooner or later you will go back to your regular smoking: the same daily amount, the same
manner, the same slavery. The efficient, safe, and finally - easiest way, is not to smoke
even one cigarette, not to think about smoking.
Nevertheless, if you happened to have lit a cigarette (in a party, with friends, with a
cup of coffee), don't say to yourself "what the heck, I'll smoke
it". Stop immediately! Do not smoke more! Do not lose your self-control! Take a
hold of yourself and do anything in order not to go back to smoking because of one moment
of weakness.
Some of the characteristics of a habit are ups and downs in the course of learning. This
also happens in the course of learning to get rid of the smoking-habit.
Tomorrow is a new day, keep the no-smoking up, until is becomes
your automatic nature. Be patient and persistent.
 GOOD LUCK!!!
